About Us
The Office of Foundation, Corporate and Government Relations provides campus-wide leadership and support to the president, administrators and faculty in developing programs and translating these programs into competitive proposals to public and private agencies for support for university priorities and faculty scholarly and creative endeavors.
The Office also supports faculty and staff in a variety of ways, including
- Proposal writing skill development workshops for faculty
- Building and strengthening relationships with external funding organizations by writing and editing proposals
- Reporting on funded projects
- Directing implementation of intellectual property agreements and compliance with government regulations
- Negotiating grants and contracts
- Providing information and advice to the Communications office regarding externally funded scholarly work and university projects
- Advising faculty as they develop a strategic plan for seeking external funding
- Acting as a university resource for emerging ideas about new directions in funding trends
- Linking departmental efforts to integrative disciplinary programs
- Assisting with project planning and design
- Forming collaborative teams both internally and externally
- Providing institutional narratives and statistics
- Arranging meetings for faculty to visit and/or speak with program officers prior to proposal preparation
- Researching public and private funding sources
- Analyzing proposal guidelines
- Assisting with budget preparation and copy editing
- Securing institutional approvals, certifications and assurances
- Assisting with paper or electronic proposal submissions
