Revised Policy on Financial Conflict of Interest in Grant Funded Research
Effective August 24, 2012, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the federal agency regulating the National Institutes of Health, has issued new Public Health Service regulations regarding the management of financial conflicts of interest (FCOI).  Accordingly, the University of Richmond has a revised Policy on Financial Conflict of Interest in Grant Funded Research.  Briefly, faculty and staff involved in sponsored research are required to disclose significant financial interests held by themselves or family members.  They must also complete online training and present certification of successful completion of training prior to applying for funding.  The complete Policy, the Disclosure Form, and information on registration for training are available on the Policies page of the website of the office of Foundation, Corporate & Government Relations.
