Submit a Grant

For NIH see the How To Apply - Application Guide

The Office of Foundation, Corporate and Government Relations (FCGR) supports faculty and administrators who wish to submit applications for external funding. We welcome the opportunity to work with colleagues across campus to ensure a smooth and successful proposal submission process.

Please remember: All external funding proposals must be routed through and approved by FCGR prior to submission. This step ensures that each application is thoroughly vetted to ensure compliance with University, federal, and agency-specific policies and guidelines. Funds received as a result of grant proposals submitted without prior FCGR review, and appropriate institutional approvals, may be returned to the granting agency.

FCGR services include:

  • Advising on a plan for seeking external funding
  • Analyzing funding programs and assisting with project and proposal planning
  • Forging internal and external collaborative teams
  • Writing, editing, and assisting with budget design and preparation
  • Providing institutional narratives and statistics
  • Securing institutional approvals, certifications, and assurances
  • Ensuring compliance with government regulations
  • Coordinating paper or electronic proposal submission
  • Preparing stewardship and progress reporting on funded projects
  • Negotiating grants, subcontracts, and intellectual property agreements
  • Serving as a University resource for emerging trends in the funding community
  • Building and maintaining relationships with external funding organizations

Once you have decided to apply for funding, please contact Brenda Thomas or Michelle Wamsley to discuss how FCGR can assist you in preparing your submission.
