Sabbatical and Summer Research Funding

The Grants office provides guidance and editing support for faculty pursuing summer research funding and semester or yearlong fellowships. While most fellowship applications must be submitted by the faculty member, the Grants office should still be notified prior to the deadline and receive a copy after submission.

Please note that most fellowship applications are due a full year before the fellowship would begin, so early research and planning is essential. Applicants for a Fulbright are encouraged to begin at least 15 months in advance given the detailed application process.

Faculty who are working with UR Summer Research Fellows should use this summer salary request this form. For University of Richmond student(s) who will be participating in your grant-funded research, please use our Grant-Funded Summer Research Form. Complete an Electronic Personnel Action Form (EPAF) to hire a student(s) during the Academic Year.
